LIVESTREAM CHANNEL RULES'N'SUCH

Rules-

Though I am not against heated debate or conflicting conversation, I will not tolerate flaming, personal insults, or trolling in the chat. If you're going to join the conversation, I ask for a little maturity even in the face of coming across something you dislike, are offended by, or disagree with. No hate speech, no name calling, no issuing of threats or resulting to intimidation tactics to try and prove a point or have the last word, and no whining. Doing such will get you kicked from the chat.

If you do find something someone said offensive, but is within the bounds stated above, I will not step in and try to censor your opposition. I believe in free discussion, and so if you're offended easily, be prepared to come in with your big-kid panties on, or don't come in at all. Harsh language, topics of religion, politics, orientations, cultures, and the like are welcomed to be discussed and debated, even if I'm not actively participating. Art is about expression, so I encourage free expression in such an environment, but please act like semi-civilized persons, and not turn it into a sincere name-calling competition.

Also, I enjoy playing music of MY choice on MY channel. If you want to listen to something, mute my channel, and go listen to your music to your heart's content.

Also, also, don't ask me to open any links. I'm trying to draw, I don't want to stop and see another cat meme, or a youtube video, or what have you. Go ahead and post a link if it comes up in the chat with other viewers and you want to share with everyone else, but don't expect me to open it. The links I'd most likely open are going to be the ones to someone's art, and that's if they're asking for my opinion/critique.

In short, things I will not allow are as follow:

No pornagraphy (but nudity presented in a non sexual way is tolerated, with permission from me first)
No hate speech
No whining
No promoting yourself or your contests (it's my channel, damnet. Get your own)
No breaking Livestream rules along with my own
No preaching
No telling me what to do
No insulting my mother

FAQ

You said "no promoting yourself". Does that mean we can't link to other artist's work, if it comes up in conversation?

-Well, given you ask me first, I won't mind you sharing art. I also don't discourage you posting links to your own galleries and artwork, just so long as you ask ahead of time. If you're wanting to share in an appropriate context, then I am more than happy to have you show us what you got.

Will you draw me a picture!?

-No. To elaborate, I won't do it for free.

Can you stop EVERYTHING you're doing, and show me how you're doing it?!

-I can show you bits and pieces and answer specific questions, certainly. I'm not going to give commentary on what I'm doing as I'm doing it, though.

How long have you been drawing?

-Forever. Ish. I started when I was four or so. My mom painted a picture of a pig to hang on the fridge to try and keep herself from snacking, and one of my sister's started emulating that picture by drawing different kinds of animals. I saw how good she was, and so started drawing non stop, wanting to be as good as my mom and my sister. It's never stopped, and I'm always improving. Thus is how art works.

Can I learn to be a good artist?

-Well, define "good". If you want to be good at abstract, not-related-to-reality type pieces, then I'm sure you can figure something out fairly quickly. However, if you want to use varying mediums to give a duplication of reality to a certain degree of accuracy, then I'm afraid it'll take a lot of time and effort. Most people don't have the patience to sit down and learn proportions, perspectives, behavior of mediums, emulating still lives, detailing, color theory, etc. It takes me, to make a decent picture, HOURS AND HOURS of just sitting and working. It's a combination of learning techniques, and having a good ability to use those techniques with ease and expression. If you don't enjoy that tediousness in an activity, then I bet you my bottom dollar, you're not going to enjoy the process of trying to reach your artistic expectations, and will give up. Art is about the JOURNEY not the DESTINATION, which is contrary to how most view art when they begin learning.

Why don't you have a tutorial?

-Oh, y'know...busy, and stuff. I'd like to make a tutorial, I really would, but I'm just so.....lazy. Just look around on DA, there are tons of great tutorials, but I try not to heavily rely on them, as I don't want to lose my sense of "me" in my work.

You said nudity and open discussion is allowed. Does that mean that minors aren't allowed?

-They are most welcome. That's why I stated that anyone wanting to share a link, must ask to first. If it has nudity, it must be known before they show the link. If a minor is in the room, and that link is posted, with full knowledge that it contains nudity, then it's not my fault what that person decides to do. Again, I'm against most conventional censorship. I don't care if you're 10 years old, or two years old, you can see nudity without it damaging you, you can listen and try to engage in debate and conversation (which I encourage, as you can learn a lot), and if you cuss in the chat, WHO CARES? Livestream censors that out, anyway. It's not like you're anywhere where you need to act like a professional. Expression! Looking at a person's context, not content, is the key to understanding.

Do I have to have a Livestream account to join the chat?

-For now, no. I'm feeling this one out. There may be spam bots and trolls I need to be weary of, and if it gets to be too much of an annoyance, I will make it so you have to be a member of Livestream in order to join the chat. No big deal, it's free to set up an account, so if you're really into my channel, I'm sure you can find it in yourself to sign up.
